ALL JUST ATOMS; WARMTH

These portraits began in an effort to strip away hierarchical labels that humans often employ to delineate privilege and otherness. By using a thermal camera to strip a viewer of markers for identification/judgement, I hoped to explore our interconnectedness. However, what also emerged was an abstraction of the natural human form that felt poetically aligned with my other projects. Where do we belong in the natural world? Are we all just atoms and warmth? Or are we altering ourselves and our human experience so greatly that we are nearly unidentifiable to the natural order of life on earth?
